The Hall is famous for its rich panelled and decorated interiors and historic gardens; being the first place to use extensive herbaceous borders in garden design. It was rebuilt in the 1830’s by local architect George Latham, who got the commission after Rowland Egerton-Warburton saw his previous work at our very own Willington Hall.

A fortified settlement for 4000 years, enter the outer ramparts of the medieval castle and walk up through what is now a woodland park. At the top is the Castle Keep, where you will not be disappointed by the views across eight counties. Events are held throughout the year and can be seen on the English heritage website.

The beautiful heritage City of Chester has a wealth of history and of things to see. If its Rome you’re looking for you can walk the walls, see the re-enactments in the amphitheatre, or check out the museum for the many artifacts that have been found across the area.
The museum also has a wide range of other displays of art, including the original family paintings which are on loan from Willington Hall.

Just above the hotel on the top of the hill Tirley Garth is a beautiful Arts and Crafts house and Garden. With high quality interiors and 16 hectares of gardens it is well worth a visit. Opening dates do vary from year to year, so it is advisable to check.
